
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was instrumental in winning the league title. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest athlete on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States to score 21 assists and 20 goals for 2012, which makes her the seventh-highest-scoring player in the country to score 20 goals in one year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
